Rejection, Chapter IV

On Sunday I received 4 emails in my inbox from Providence Hospital saying this:

"Preliminary review of the information provided from your application indicates you may not meet the minimum qualifications, and therefore may not be considered for this position."

I sent out 5 applications for CNA in all areas of the hospital, including ones I had worked in previously. Now, I don't know about you, but to me that there email sounds like rejection. Sure, I am used to this by now. I did think I had a better shot at getting a job in this, something that I have 5 YEARS of experience in. Maybe I was wrong. Maybe I applied prematurely. My license is not yet valid. But waiting for the state bureaucrats to get their shit together and actually mail me my CNA license could take up to a MONTH! So, I thought I'd start early. Then again, maybe I am not qualified because I haven't worked as a CNA for 3 years now, and have therefore forgotten everything. Maybe they noted my California area code, and sent that email automatically. Maybe they don't like the fact that I am ______, _____, _____. Whatever it is, I may never know. Here's what they put at the bottom:

"Sincerely,

Human Resource Department
Providence Health & Services

Messages sent to this inbox are not monitored; please do not reply to this email address."

Love that special human touch, don't you?
So, on I go. Sending pointless applications to random job sites. It really is true, it's not what you know it's who you know. Anyhoo, my '06-'07 Great Depression continues...
