Hooping is not a winter sport.
Last Saturday, I put on as many layers that would allow me to remain relatively functional, and braved the cold to sell hoops at the Farmer's Market. Ten hours later my face was bright red, my hands were chapped and I was down $35. I didn't sell one hoop! I thought they'd fly off the racks since xmas is right around the corner-- man, was I wrong!
Kids played with them, and a few people stopped by to admire them, but no one really wanted to hoop. I didn't either, really. All lumpy and bulky with my jacket. At least I won't feel guilty for not giving it another try every weekend it's not raining.
BTW, this photo is not actually the Farmer's Market, it's Utah. But it was really that cold out on Saturday.
