Back to school...

Yay! I just passed my reading test!

For one nursing program application, you have to pass a reading test. Nope, doesn't matter if you've got a B.A. in journalism, it doesn't prove you can read! So I set aside 2 hours today to drive to the campus, park, register, etc. The assistant said it would take about 45 minutes.

Fifteen minutes later I finish, get my results (99 out of 99) and leave to find a ticket on my car. Luckily, it was just a warning--who knew parking in front of a residence was illegal?

Also, I just sent off my very first nursing application today. Yay! One down, 379 to go? I have a pretty good feeling I won't get into this program. I imagine some old, cranky nurse devising a plan to make it as difficult as possible for students to become nurses for no other reason than that is her job. Oh well.
No test required there, but I spent about an hour trying to calculate my GPA based on their calculations, taking into account only the classes they care to see. This is the program that doesn't care if you have 5 years of prior CNA work experience unless your license is in Oregon, and is current. So, 5 years of work experience--wiped clean away.

My dad would say I'm getting yet another lesson in The Struggle Otherwise Known as The Human Condition. Nothing is easy!
