Counting the "no's"
Here's another one for my collection:
Dear Cassady,
I wanted to let you know that we have extended an offer for the Communications Team Assistant to another candidate. Your application and interview were really strong and you remained one of our top choices throughout the selection process. The joy and curse at (Job name here) is that we get people with 10 years (exact) experience applying for positions so it is really hard for younger candidates to get a leg up.
Thank you for your time and application, and I wish you luck in your job search!
Best wishes,
Erin Thomas
So nice. Keep in mind that this job pays no more than $25,000--and that's the high end. That's $12 an hour. I still can't believe that someone with 10 years experience took that! Oh, wait, I'm in Portland and my industry is journalism. Yes I can.
