This is something to aspire to... Well, maybe in another life. The video is Irina Roubleva, a fourth generation Russian circus performer based in Moscow.

Here I am

It's after midnight and I am wide awake. Why? Because I slept all day long, getting ready for work tonight. Then I got called off. The census is low, so it was my turn to stay home. Won't look too deep into it now... now's not the time to start believing I am cursed in some way. Now's not the time to have epiphanies about being grateful for some lame job because you figure it's better than nothing. Now's not the time to worry about being grown up and having thoughts like, "hmm, so this is why some adults are so angry all the time, this is why they turn to alcohol and drugs, and a life of crime. Cuz shit just doesn't make sense, it's not fair, blah blah blah." Nope. Now's the time to stay up late and surf the Internet, blog angry things and get mad because I can't sleep and won't be able to pay certain bills this month. Reflection and worry come later.

Sweet shoes

I didn't know they made shoes as sweet as this anymore. I thought the last time was 1985, but I guess I was wrong! You just have to know where to look, and in this case it's a California-themed online skate shop based outta Sweden. The same one that brought us the fabulous pants below. Nice. I'm gonna keep shopping.

High pants?

Low low pants are annoying, but seriously... these are worse. Anyhoo, I ripped this from another blogger site, but it's so funny I had to save it for future reference!! And it doesn't look like it's a joke. Go here to see them for yourself!

From hipster to hippie

Image
These are my new b-day shoes... and they look strangely like something my parents started wearing decades ago, and I think, still do to this day. Yep, they're Birkenstocks. And you know what? I love them. Don't care that they have no heel, no sex appeal, and are not on Cosmo's hot list for fall. And, finally, no one will confuse me with a hipster when I wear them!

Boring blog!

Because life if boring! Compared to the crap I've been dragging myself through lately, the excitement factor sure is low nowadays. I've been working my 3 12-hour shifts, and getting used to the nuances of life in the hospital. It's weird working with lots of people, and with young professionals. Some nurses are in their early 20s, and some nurses aides are just barely in their 20s. It does make me feel older... here on my 29th b-day, but hearing the pitiful dating stories and living-with-parents woes, I'd never want to go back! And I guess that's a good thing. At 29 I have an awesome dude and we're in no rush to do anything. And I've got a serious direction in life, which feels great.
